Edwin Trupe, 70, Conestoga Wood retiree, Vietnam vet

Edwin G. Trupe, 70, of Akron, passed away Monday, May 23, 2011 at Ephrata Community Hospital.

He was born in Union Grove, East Earl Township, to the late Alfred K. Trupe and Martha Mae (Good) Trupe of Akron.

Ed worked in the shipping department of Conestoga Wood Products, where he retired after 37 years of service in 2006. He was a member of Trinity Evangelical Congregational Church in Terre Hill where he served as an usher.

A veteran of the Vietnam conflict, Ed served in the U.S. Army. He enjoyed visiting the beach.

In addition to his mother he is survived by two brothers: A. Eugene, husband of Jane W. (Moore) Trupe, of Terre Hill; Gary L., husband of Betsy (Wright) Trupe, of Lincoln University; a sister: Shirley A., wife of Melvin L. Robinson; of Intercourse; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held May 28 at Trinity E.C.C. with Pastor Al Hoffman officiating. Interment followed at Memory Gardens Memorial Cemetery with military honors accorded by the Red Rose Veterans Honor Guard.
