Elizabeth Erica Halvorsen, 83, Spalding secretary, mother of four, musician, sang in church choir

Elizabeth Erica Halvorsen, 83, formerly of Crumlynne, Ephrata, and Denver, died at Neighborhood Hospice of West Chester on Thursday, March 8, 2018.

Elizabeth was born in Holyoke, Mass., on March 25, 1934, to Eric A. Eichhorn and Eva (Krassler) Eichhorn.

She worked for many years as a secretary for Spalding sporting goods manufacturing company. She was a musician and played the organ. Elizabeth also sang in a church choir in Holyoke, MA.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her late husband, Harold Edwin Halvorsen, who passed away in 2003.

Surviving Elizabeth are four children: Sherrie L. Halvorsen of Deptford, N.J.; Karen D. Shook of Sewell, N.J.; Carl Halvorsen, husband of Margaret Tan of Wilmington, Del.; and Bruce Halvorsen, husband of Chris Ross of Landisville. Also, surviving are five grandchildren: Norman Shook, Nathaniel Shook, Brandon Halvorsen, Eric Halvorsen, and Hannah Shook; and nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to a funeral service at Gravenor Home for Funerals, 100 W. Main St., Ephrata, on Friday, March 16, at 8:30 a.m. Interment will take place at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery following the services.
