Emma A. Lauver, 79, of Ephrata, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, April 14, 2016, at her home, surrounded by family.

She was the wife of the late Henry H. Lauver, who died in February 2004. Born on July 7, 1936, in Ephrata, she was the daughter of the late Moses W. and Mary Elizabeth (Hursh) Martin.

She was a member of the Centerville Mennonite Church, Martindale. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, gardening, and was a faithful friend to many.

Emma is survived by seven sons: Jason M., husband of Edith (Weaver) Lauver, of Shippensburg; James M., husband of Ruth G. (Oberholtzer) Lauver, of Lititz; Jerald M., husband of Debbie L. (Weaver) Lauver, of Fredericksburg; Henry Jr., husband of Glenda F. (Burkholder) Lauver, of Stevens; John M., husband of Joy M. (Freed) Lauver, of McAlisterville; Jerry M. Lauver of Ephrata; Jesse M., husband of Elizabeth P. (Harder) Lauver, of Barto; five daughters: Joy L. Lauver of Mendon, Mass.; Julia M. Lauver of Ephrata; Emma Jane Ball of Richfield; Janice M., wife of Ernest R. Zimmerman, of Auburn, N.Y.; Janetta L. Lauver of Ephrata; 49 grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren; a brother: Thomas H. Martin of Elizabethtown; three sisters: Lydia Jane, wife of Amos H. Martin, of Ephrata; Mary Elizabeth Nolt of Ephrata; Mabel S., wife of Glenn Umberger, of Myerstown; and sisters-in-law: Vera Martin of Lititz and Anna Mae Martin of Stevens.

In addition to her parents and husband, Emma is preceded in death by a grandson: Nolan Lauver; and siblings: Joseph H. Martin, Margaret L. Martin, Paul H. Martin, Virginia H. Weaver, John Henry Martin, Sarah Ellen Weaver, Moses H. Martin, Theodore H. Martin, and Ruth Naomi Kurtz.

Services were held April 19 at Centerville Mennonite Church, Ephrata, with the church ministry officiating. Interment followed in the Centerville Mennonite Church Cemetery. Kindly omit flowers.
