Evelyn A. Zimmerman, 88, of Ephrata, passed away on May 23, 2018, at Keystone Villa, Ephrata.

Evelyn was born in Clay on June 20, 1929 to Elmer H. Rock and Anna J. Whitcraft. She was joined together with the love of her life, Lester D. Zimmerman, on June 29, 1946, in a marriage that lasted 62 years, until Lester’s passing in 2009.

Preceding Evelyn in death, in addition to her husband and parents, was one brother: Donald L. Rock.

Surviving Evelyn are her daughter: Linda L. Rupp, wife of David C. Rupp of Ephrata; son: Ricky L. Zimmerman, husband of Cindy A. (Herr) of Lititz; three grandsons: T. Scott Rupp, husband of Kerry Walsh of Fairbanks, Alaska; Brent T. Zimmerman of Cornwall; Blake A. Zimmerman of Brownstown; and three great-grandchildren.

She loved her family, watching the moon and stars at night, and writing letters to friends. She was an avid animal lover, most especially dogs. While Evelyn did not like to travel, she did enjoy going out to eat. She enjoyed stories of bygone times. When Evelyn was 80, she went dog-sledding in Fairbanks, Alaska in the heart of the arctic winter. Evelyn was a lifelong Lutheran, and, of course, a faithful coffee drinker.
