Evelyn G. Cammauf, 96, worked at Miller & Hess Shoe Factory, mother of two, loved flowers
Evelyn G. Cammauf, 96, of Akron, passed away Sunday, Dec. 11, 2016, at Lancashire Hall.
She was born in Millport to the late Elmer and Grace (Wechter) Shreiner, and was the wife of the late Lester Cammauf, with whom she shared 77 years of marriage before he passed in 2015.
She was a member of the Akron Church of the Brethren. Evelyn worked for the former Miller & Hess Shoe Factory, Akron. She enjoyed crocheting, watching the walkers on the Akron Rail Trail, and loved flowers.
Evelyn is survived by a son: Ronald L. Cammauf of Akron; a daughter: Rosalie, widow of Harry Williams, of Akron; three grandsons: Scott, husband of Viji Cammauf, of Oakland, Calif.; Jim, husband of Tammy High, of Pine Mountain, Ga.; Jeffrey, husband of Sara High, of Reinholds; a granddaughter: Judy, wife of Michael Styer, of Denver; five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; three brothers: Elmer Shreiner Jr. of Akron, Charles Shreiner of Shiremanstown, Richard Shreiner of Mount Joy; and three sisters: Gloria Wolf of Manheim; Jane Houser of Akron; Nancy, wife of Ken Fern, of Manheim.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters: Lilie Gochnauer and Miriam Burkholder.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Dec. 16, at 2 p.m., at the Stradling Funeral Home, 30 N. Ninth St., Akron, with Pastor Tom Weber officiating. Interment will take place in the Memory Gardens Memorial Cemetery.
