Geraldine Moyer, Burkhart and Drezner seamstress
Geraldine Rae (Townsley) Moyer, 84, of Ephrata, passed away Saturday, Dec. 24, 2011 at Ephrata Manor.
She was born in Lincoln to the late Chester and Stella (Phillips) Townsley and was the wife of the late Eugene H. Moyer, who passed away in 1987.
Gerry was a member of Zion’s Reformed UCC Church, Ephrata. She enjoyed reading, singing, playing games and cards, baking and spending time with family and friends. She especially enjoyed going to the Pocono Mountains with her family. During her working years, she was a seamstress and tailor for the former Burkhart and Drezner, Ephrata.
She is survived by a son: Perry E., husband of Sandy (Galebach) Moyer, of Ephrata; daughter: Susan J., wife of Robert Croft, of Ephrata; six grandchildren: Jason, husband of Sherry (High) Moyer, of Ephrata; Robin (Trump), wife of Matt Forney, of Adamstown; Joshua Moyer, companion of Nicole Kaufman, of Akron; Becky (Trump), wife of Jason Thiry, of Australia; Alexis Franklin, of Ephrata; and Nathan Franklin, of Ephrata; great-grandchildren: Kaitlyn, Jarrid, Kayleigh, Jarrett, Gavin and two on the way; brother: Donald, husband of Phyllis (Ditzler) Townsley, of Stevens; and sister: Patricia, wife of Larry Miller, of Ephrata.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by brothers: Jack, husband of Jean (Reber) Townsley; Richard, husband of Pauline (Reich) Townsley; and a sister: June, wife of the late Paul McCarty.
A funeral service was held on Dec. 28 at Zion’s Reformed United Church of Christ, Ephrata, with Rev. John C. Miller officiating. Interment took place in the Lincoln Cemetery.
