Glenn Moffett, 86, vet, foreman
Glenn S. Moffett, 86, of Denver, passed away Friday, Sept. 9, 2011 at his residence.
He was born in Lancaster to the late Samuel and Katherine (Hagen) Moffett and was the husband of Dawn (Rehrer) Moffett .
Glenn was a member of Swamp Christian Fellowship, Reinholds, where he served on the church consistory, and was involved in the Youth and Willing Workers Group. He was an avid bowler, New York Yankees and Jets fan and volunteered at the Reinholds Fire Company Carnivals for many years. In earlier years he coached softball and bowling. He worked as a construction foreman for Berkshire Greens for many years prior to retirement. Glenn is a veteran who served in the U.S. Marine Corps during WW II.
In addition to his wife, Glenn is survived by a daughter: Gail S., wife of Randall Kerschner, of Mohnton; three stepsons: Maxwell Forsyth, of Philadelphia; Sean Forsyth, of Denver; Timothy Forsyth, at home; three grandchildren: Randall Kerschner Jr., of Mohnton; David Kerschner, of Reading; Heather Huber, of Shillington; and four great- grandchildren: Bryce, Riley, Grace and Katie.
He was preceded in death by his first wife: Gladys (Ochs) Moffett, in 1993, and also by his brothers: Wayne and Robert Moffett; and a sister: Inza Mellinger.
A memorial service will be held on Sept. 17 at 3 p.m. at the Roseboro Stradling Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., 533 Walnut Street, Denver, with Pastor Craig Snow officiating. Interment with military honors will take place in the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, East Hanover Township, on Sept. 23 at 2:30 p.m.
