Grace Zimmerman, 91, Bareville Garment worker
Grace (Leicy) Zimmerman, 91, of Ephrata, passed away Saturday, Sept. 28, 2013, at Hospice & Community Care, Mount Joy.
She was born in Farmersville, daughter of Lemuel "Lemon" and Cora (Zimmerman) Leicy and was the wife of Raymond W. Zimmerman who passed away in 1992.
She was a member of Bergstrasse Lutheran Church, Ephrata. Grace worked for Bareville Garment Factory for many years. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, reading, gardening and baking her favorite sugar cookies.
Grace is survived by a son: Gerald L., husband of Mary Ann (Durante) Zimmerman of New Holland; two daughters: Joan L., wife of William Shafer of Ballwin, Mo., and Carol, wife of Robert T. Roth of Landisville; a granddaughter whom she raised: Karen L. Plowman of Lancaster; two sisters: Pearl S. Kilhefner and Charlotte I. Hartman, both of Ephrata; 12 additional grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Grace was preceded in death by a daughter: June M. Hoover and two brothers: Stanley and Victor Leicy.
A viewing will be held Oct. 4 from 12:30 to 2 p.m. at the Bergstrasse Lutheran Church, 9 Hahnstown Road, Ephrata, followed by a funeral service at 2 p.m. with Pastor Herbert A. Lohr officiating. Interment will take place in the Bergstrasse Lutheran Church Cemetery.
