Gregory E. Waidley Sr., 72, Navy vet, worked at Prudential, ABC Auto Auction, avid blood donor

Gregory E. Waidley Sr., 72, of Ephrata, went to be with his Lord on Monday, Sept. 5, 2016.
He was the loving husband of Christine E. Waidley, with whom he would have celebrated a 40th wedding anniversary on Sept. 18. He was the son of late Edward A. Waidley Sr. and Dorothy S. Waidley.
Greg was a graduate of Manheim Township High School and a United States Navy veteran. As a member of Calvary Church in Lancaster, he served as an usher and had previously worked as a member of the children’s ministry. Greg was employed by Prudential Insurance Agency for more than 20 years, but was currently employed by ABC Auto Auction in East Petersburg.
Greg never met a person who did not become someone that he called a friend. His greatest joys in life were the relationships he had with each of his three grandchildren. He will be lovingly missed by his family and many friends.
Greg was an organ donor, and a passionate donor to the Lancaster General Blood Bank. Over the years he had donated more than 10 gallons. Blood donations may be made in his name to the Lancaster General Blood Bank at Health Campus, Building 2104, Second Floor, Suite 202.
In addition to his wife Christine, Greg is survived by two children: Gregory E. Waidley Jr. and Mary Beth Boyle; two grandsons: Evan and Jacob Waidley; and one granddaughter: Micah Grace Timblin. Also surviving are two brothers: Edward A. Waidley and Scott Waidley; a sister: Kim L. Martin, wife of Kenneth Martin; and his stepmother: Evelyn Waidley.
Memorial services will be held at Calvary Church, 1051 Landis Valley Road, Lancaster, on Monday, Sept. 26, 2016, with Pastor Paul Thompson officiating. Visitation with the family is at 2 p.m., and the memorial service will be held at 3 p.m.
No flowers, please. If monetary donations are given, make them in Greg’s name to the Calvary Church Building Fund, 1051 Landis Valley Road, Lancaster, PA, 17601.
