Harald O. Zelt, 66, Maple Grove Raceway driver/worker, soccer enthusiast, dog lover

Harald O. Zelt, 66, Ephrata, died July 3, 2016, in Ephrata Community Hospital.

Born in Essen, Germany, a son of the late Otto and Theresa (Lohmar) Zelt, he was married 46 years to Janet M. (Williams) Zelt.

He drove truck for Roadway Express, Brooklyn, N.Y., and worked and raced at Maple Grove Raceway. Harald was a soccer enthusiast as a player, coach, and fan. He loved his dogs and was a history buff.

Surviving in addition to his wife are sons: Gregory H. (Shelly) Zelt, East Petersburg; and Eric Zelt, Ephrata; grandchildren: Dillon, Laura, and Reilly; brother: Dieter (Deborah) Zelt, Ashville, N.C.; and his schnauzer: Fritz.

His step-father: Willie Sommers; and Otto, his wire haired terrier, predeceased him.

Services were held July 9 at Good Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, Reamstown.
