Harriet Fasnacht, 81, Maple Farms retiree, dedicated Lions Club member, crossing guard

Harriet A. Fasnacht, 81, of Akron died Sunday, May 6, 2018 in Lewes, Del.

Born in Rothsville, she was a daughter of the late Henry and Mary (Musser) Koehler, and widow of Clarence Fasnacht, who passed in 2009. Harriet spent the last three years enjoying the companionship of Robert “Bob” L. Weaver Jr.

She was a dedicated Lions Club Member, serving as past president, and was a recipient of the Melvin Jones Award. She was community advocate serving as a local crossing guard for children and helping at the Akron Fire Company.

Harriet had worked a various sewing factories and retired from Maple Farms. She was a member of the Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church in Rothsville, where she formerly sang in the church choir.

In addition to her companion: Bob; Harriet is survived by a daughter: Sherry Brooks (John) of North Charleston, S.C.; three grandchildren: Amy, Mindy, and Kim; and a sister: Brenda Fetter of Ephrata.

She is predeceased by a sister: Sandra Wenger.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, May 16, at 11 a.m. in the Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church, 36 Church St., Lititz, with Pastor Bonnie Oplinger officiating. A viewing will be held prior from 10 to 11 a.m. in the church. Interment will immediately follow in the church cemetery.
