Helen E. Wingenroth, 94, Ephrata, secretary for Wingenroth Pontiac, Elks volunteer, avid golfer

Helen E. Wingenroth, 94, of Ephrata, passed away Monday, Nov. 24, 2014 at Ephrata Manor.

Her husband, the late Lloyd Wingenroth, passed away May 7, 1979. Helen was born in Lititz, daughter of the late Tobias H. and Edythe D. (Wyman) Erline.

A 1937 Lititz High School graduate, Helen worked at various hosiery mills in the area and was last employed as the corporate secretary for the former Lloyd Wingenroth Pontiac Sales and Service of Ephrata. She was an avid golfer and reader and volunteered at the Ephrata Elks.

Helen is survived by one step-daughter: Jane. W. Rhoads of Ephrata; one step-son: Jack L. Wingenroth of Ephrata; two nieces: Edee Bedford of Lancaster; and Judy Cotter of Charlotte Hall, Md.; and one nephew: Dr. W. R. Ditzler of Ridgecrest, Calif.

In addition to her husband and parents, Helen was preceded in death by two sisters: Margaret Rutt and Phyllis Ditzler; and two brothers: Dexter W. and Elmer W. Erline.

Services were held at the Donecker Chapel at Ephrata Manor on Dec. 1, with Rev. Edward Dickel officiating. She was interred in Bergstrasse Lutheran Cemetery, Ephrata Township.
