Henry Redcay Jr., 62, bird watcher

Henry Martin Redcay, Jr., 62, of Lebanon, passed away Monday, Aug. 1, 2011 at Hershey Medical Center.

He was born in Lancaster County to the late Henry and Lizzie (Martin) Redcay. He was the husband of Sandra Fay (Smith) Redcay, with whom he shared 43 years of marriage.

Henry was a member of Mohler Church of the Brethren, Ephrata. He loved his grandchildren and enjoyed bird watching and gardening.

In addition to his wife, Henry is survived by his children: Kevin G., husband of Sabrina (Good) Redcay, of East Earl; Tracy L., wife of Corey Wenrich, of Stevens; Scott A., husband of Alicia (Stoltzfus) Redcay, of Lebanon; eight grandchildren; and his siblings: Lena Mae, wife of Ivan Weaver, of Newmanstown; Clarence, husband of Stella (Weber) Redcay, of Lititz; Melvin, husband of Donna (Trego) Redcay, of Bowmansville; Elsie, wife of Christ Beiler, of Leola; Louella, wife of Lloyd Garman, of Myerstown; Ivan, husband of Abbie (Yoder) Redcay, of Sarasota, Fla.; Lester, husband of Pearl (Hornberger) Redcay, of Stevens; Lizzie, wife of Aaron Leid, of Ephrata; Alta, wife of Ed Stauffer, of Ephrata; Elmer, husband of Judy (Wenger) Redcay, of Jefferson City, Mo.; Glenn, husband of Cheryl (Orner) Redcay, of Denver; Mabel, wife of Leon Martin, of Ephrata; and Thelma, wife of Vernon Hurst, of Ephrata.

Funeral services were held at Mohler Church of the Brethren, Ephrata, with Pastor Carl L. Brubaker officiating. Interment took place in the Schaefferstown Cemetery.
