Janice C. Murphy, 57, nurse, worked at the Mennonite Home, Siamese cat breeder, enjoyed fishing

Janice “Jannie” C. Murphy, 57, of Peach Bottom, formerly of Ephrata, passed away Monday, July 17, 2017, after a courageous 15-month battle with cancer.

Born June 9, 1960 in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late George W. Murphy Sr. and the late Paige A. (Dameron) Murphy. She was the companion of Hoover “Ray” Roland Jr. They just celebrated their 12th anniversary on July 8.

A career in nursing, Jannie had last worked at the Mennonite Home, Lancaster.

She was a 1978 graduate of J. P. McCaskey High School. Jannie was of the United Methodist faith. She loved fishing, with the “Luck of the Irish,” playing “the ponies” at Delaware Park. A cat lover, she was a Siamese cat breeder.

Also surviving are her two sons: Ryan Stock, married to Jessica, of Ephrata; and Dane A. Stock of Ephrata; three grandchildren; and three brothers: George W. (Maryann) Murphy Jr., Gerald W. (Linda) Murphy; and Timothy (Hillary) Murphy; and her canine companion: Teddy.

In keeping with Jannie’s wishes, a private celebration of life will be held at a later date. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. Kindly omit flowers.
