Janice Marie Sexton, 63, F & M College secretary, OMPH member, enjoyed playing bridge

Janice Marie Sexton, 63, of Newmanstown, passed away at home on Thursday evening, Aug. 18, 2016, surrounded by her loving family.

Born Oct. 31, 1952, in Bradford, she was the daughter of the late Frederick Sexton Sr. and Patricia (Koch) Sexton, who survives.

She was a 1970 graduate of Central Christian High School. She earned her bachelor’s degree in art education from Edinboro University.

She was a member of Our Mother of Perpetual Help in Ephrata. She worked for 38 years at Franklin & Marshall College, initially in the bookstore and finally retiring as secretary in the Counseling Services Department of F & M. Janice’s advice: Go to church, take dancing lessons, and learn to play bridge.

In addition to her mother: Patricia, of Bradford; she is survived by five sisters: Teresa Mickoseff of East Petersburg; Patricia (John) Brilhart of Higbee, Mo.; Marie Sexton of St. Petersburg, Fla.; Joan (John) Organiscak of Eighty-Four; and Dorothy (Edward) VanVliet of State College; three brothers: Ward (Joan Adkins) of Clearwater, Fla.; Frederick Sexton Jr., and Charles Sexton, both of Bradford; nieces: Jennifer (Thomas) Atkins, Antonia VanVliet; and nephews: John Brilhart, Zachary Brilhart; great-niece: Evelyn Atkins; 18 aunts and uncles; and numerous cousins.

Services were held Aug. 22 at Our Mother of Perpetual Help Church, Ephrata. She was interred in St. Bernard Cemetery, Bradford.
