Joanne A. Tessmer, 68, ECH, Century 21 worker, Sweet Adeline, easy to talk to, loved family

Joanne A. Tessmer, 68, of Stevens, passed away Sun., June 9, 2019 at WellSpan Ephrata Community Hospital.

Joanne was the loving wife of 48 years to Edward R. Tessmer. Born in Dearborn, Mich., she was the daughter of the late John S. and Sophie (Yankowski) Ryba.

Joanne was a graduate of Edsel Ford High School, Class of 1969. She loved to sing, and performed with the Sweet Adelines in Detroit. She worked as a telephone operator at Michigan Bell for many years before moving to the Denver area in 1989. She worked at the Ephrata Hospital as a receptionist, then obtained her Realtor’s license and worked at Century 21 as an agent. Joanne was easy to talk to, she loved children, and enjoyed socializing. Most of all she loved her family, caring for her husband, and raising her daughter.

In addition to her husband, Joanne is survived by a daughter: Michelle R. Tessmer of Lahaina, Hawaii; brother: Richard Ryba (Linda) of Flatrock, Mich.; two nieces: Patty Lachance and Amy Raub; cousin: Sabina Boauer; and her furry friends: Tigar the cat, and Peetie the dog. She was dearly loved and will be missed by the entire Tessmer family.

A viewing will be held on Saturday, June 15, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Good Sipler Funeral & Cremation Centre, 34-38 N. Reamstown Road, Reamstown, and the service will begin at 10:30 a.m.
