John F. DiNofa, 71, Ephrata, Vietnam vet, retired PPL lineman, diehard Eagles, Phils fan

John F. DiNofa, 71, of Ephrata, passed away Saturday, March 19, 2016, at Wellspan Ephrata Community Hospital.

He was born in Philadelphia to the late John and Irene (Rebman) DiNofa, and was the husband of Elizabeth “Betty” A. (DeAngelo) DiNofa.

John worked as a lineman for PPL in Frackville for 24 years until his retirement in 2007. He served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam, enjoyed going to the recreation center and working out, was a diehard Eagles and Phillies fan, loved his family, enjoyed camping and driving his Mustang.

In addition to his wife, John is survived by son: John, husband of Beth Reed, of Turnersville, N.J.; four daughters: Karen, wife of Scott Kohler of Yardley; Kim Davies (Edward Davies) of Yardley; Jacqueline, wife of Joseph A. Mazzio, of Omaha, Nebraska; Nicole DiNofa, companion of Chris Blackwell, of Lost Creek; brother: Robert “Bob,” husband of Mary DiNofa of Zion Grove; sister: Barbara “Babs,” wife of Frank Fratto, of Philadelphia; sister-in-law: Edna DiNofa of Shenandoah; 14 grandchildren: Devon, Melyssa, Taylor, Megan, Kamryn, Brittany, Cole, Gianna, Kailey, Isabella, Dominic, Brennan, Jackson, and Sofia;and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother: Richard L. DiNofa.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, March 24, from 12 to 4 p.m., at the Stradling Funeral Home, 30 N. 9th St., Akron, followed by his funeral service at 4 p.m. with Pastor Tom Weber officiating and military honors by the Red Rose Veteran Honor Guard. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
