John R. ‘Rusty’ Fox, 69, Stevens, Vietnam vet, Thaddeus Stevens teacher, bricklayer, foreman

John R. “Rusty” Fox, 69, Stevens, died Mar. 21, 2016, in Spruce Manor, West Reading.

Born in Mt. Pleasant, N.J., he was a son of the late John S. and Rose M. (Trimmer) Fox.

A Lykens High School and Stevens Trade School graduate, John was an Army sergeant during the Vietnam War. A bricklayer, he was a foreman with Witmer and McCoy, Mount Joy, and taught at Thaddeus Stevens School of Technology, Lancaster. Rusty enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, woodworking, and cherished time with family and friends. He was a member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Congregational Church.

Surviving are his wife of 30 years: Cynthia E. (Hummel) Fox; sons: Brian (Krystal) Fox, Elizabethville; Michael (Pamela) Fox, Ephrata; and John A. (Denise) Fox, Brownstown; grandchildren: Alyssa (Dan), Timothy (Haley), Hannah, Sarah, and Emily; great-grandchildren: Lyla and Abraham; five sisters and four brothers.

A celebration of life was held March 26 at St. Paul’s Evangelical Congregational Church, Reamstown. Inurnment was in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
