Josephine Rutt, 92, formerly of Ephrata, managed IZOD store, enjoyed making pottery

Josephine Rutt, 92, formerly of Ephrata, passed away Saturday, Oct. 10, 2015, at the United Zion Retirement Community in Lititz.

She was born in Denver to the late William and Katie (Beam) Rettew; and was the wife of the late Harold L. Rutt, who died in 2003.

Josephine was a member of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Ephrata. She was an avid gardener and liked to travel and spend time with family. She was also very creative with making flower arrangements and enjoyed making pottery and ceramics. In her working years, she held numerous positions with Ship ‘n Shore, and she managed the IZOD clothing store in Ephrata.

Josephine is survived by a son: Jeffrey M. Rutt, husband of Cindy; a daughter: Rebecca Rutt Leas of South Dakota, and her companion Rick Summerville; three grandchildren: Michael, married to Katherine Rutt, Bel Air, Md.; Karen, married to Ryan Martzall, Ephrata; Amy, married to Kevin Martin, Lititz; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
