Joyce Radell, 79, nurse’s aide and homemaker
Joyce O. Radell, 79, of Lititz, passed away Saturday, May 19, 2012, at Harbor Hospital, Baltimore, Md.
She was born in Lancaster County to the late Enos and Susan (Heisey) Hoffer and was the wife of William A. Radell, who celebrated 50 years of marriage May 5.
Joyce had been a member of the former Assembly of God Church in Lititz. A traveler, she enjoyed the mountains and taking bus trips. She loved spending time with her grand and her great-grandchildren; she particularly enjoyed playing board games with them. Joyce liked music of all types; a favorite was southern gospel music and listening to Rev. T. D. Jakes on television. Her hobbies included flower gardening, playing bingo, crocheting and animals. A homemaker, Joyce also worked as a nurse’s aide for various nursing homes in the area for many years.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son: Timothy Radell, of Landisburg; two daughters: Debra M., wife of Donald Buchter, of Landisburg; and Denise A., wife of Dennis L. Enck, of Lititz; a daughter-in-law: Brigitte Radell, of Lititz; grandchildren: Dwayne Buchter, Daniel Buchter, Ashlie Enck and Christopher R. Enck; great-grandchildren: Keyara "Keykey" and Gunner Buchter.
She was preceded in death by a sister: Grace Yeager and a grandson: Dustin Buchter.
Funeral services and interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
If desired, memorial contributions in Joyce’s memory may be made to Make-a-Wish Foundation of the Susquehanna Valley, 1054 New Holland Ave., Lancaster, PA 17601.
