Juanita Watson, 71, Ephrata native, held a PhD in nursing, enjoyed Broadway musicals

Juanita Watson, 71, of Collingswood, N.J., died Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at Cooper University Hospital.

Born in Ephrata, she was the daughter of the late Harry Augustus and Dorothy Mae (Leisey) Watson, and the sister of the late Ellamae Watson Blank.

Juanita studied nursing at the Reading Hospital School of Nursing; medical-surgical nursing and nursing educator at University of Pennsylvania; and nursing research and theory development at New York University, where she received her PhD.

Juanita enjoyed traveling, Broadway musicals, classical music, watching tennis, and spending time with her family.

Surviving is a nephew: Randolph Blank; a great-niece: Cortley Fisher; two great-nephews: Eric Blank and James Blank; five great-great-nephews; and one great-great-niece.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family with interment in Bergstrasse Lutheran Cemetery.
