Katelyn J. Zimmerman, 14, Ephrata native, excellent student, enjoyed fishing, loved to laugh

Katelyn Jean Zimmerman, age 14, Inverness, Fla., died unexpectedly on Monday, March 7, 2016, as the result of an accident.

Katelyn was born on July 17, 2001, in Ephrata, to Shawn D. Zimmerman and Rhonda Crouse.

She was an excellent student in the eighth grade at Inverness Middle School. Katelyn was a giving and generous person who loved to laugh, enjoyed fishing, and loved the outdoors.

Those left to mourn her passing and cherish her precious memory are her mother: Rhonda Crouse; her father, Shawn Zimmerman; her brother: Dylan James Zimmerman; two sisters: Heather Nicole Crouse and Savannah Kay Zimmerman; maternal grandmother: Pamela Crouse; paternal grandmother: Charlene Sweigart; paternal grandfather: Gerald Zimmerman; and step-grandfather, Dale Sweigart.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather: Richard Crouse.

Katelyn’s life will be remembered at a celebration of life service on Saturday, March 19, at 11 a.m., from the Calvary Chapel, next door to the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home, 3075 S. Florida Ave., Inverness, Fla., with the Rev. Kevin Ballard officiating. The family will receive friends in visitation beginning at 10 a.m. until the hour of service.

In order to help others, and to honor Katelyn’s memory, her organs were donated so that others may live.
