Kathy E. Schlegel, 71, Cocalico grad, worked at Loomis Co., AWC president, cherished family

Kathy E. Schlegel, 71, of Lebanon, formerly of Reinholds, died Jan. 1, 2018, at Hershey Medical Center.

Born in West Reading, a daughter of Leonore L. (Kegerise) Fitterling, New Holland, and the late Richard S. Fitterling, she was married to Gary L. Schlegel for 50 years.

A 1964 Cocalico High School graduate, she received her associate accounting degree from Goldey-Beacom College and worked as treasurer/office administrator with The Loomis Company, Wyomissing, for 33 years. Kathy was a member and deacon of Quentin United Church of Christ, past president of Adamstown Woman’s Club, enjoyed golf, gardening, sewing and cherished her family.

Also surviving is her son: Steven Schlegel, Palmyra; grandchildren: Aidan, Riley, and Callie; and her brother: Chris I., married to Linda Fitterling, Stevens.

A memorial celebration of Kathy’s life will be held Wednesday, Jan. 10, at 7 p.m., from Quentin U.C.C., 11 E. Main St., Quentin, with The Rev. Julia Beall officiating. A visitation will be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the church. Inurnment will be private.
