Larry L. Long, 86, USAF Sgt., tool and die maker at RCA, New Standard, was motorcyclist

Larry L. Long, 86, of Ephrata, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2018, at WellSpan Ephrata Community Hospital.
He was born in West Earl Township to the late Lawrence and Helen (Snader) Long, and was the husband of Sherlyn L. (Rankin) Long, with whom he shared 50 years of marriage.
He attended Bible Baptist Church. Larry was a tool and die maker for RCA and New Standard. He was a member of the American Legion, Mount Joy. He loved traveling on his motorcycle and hunting. Larry was a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force while stationed in Wyoming from 1951 to 1955 during the Korean War.
In addition to his wife, Larry is survived by a son: Lamar L., husband of Kathie Long of Akron; a daughter: Linda L., wife of Kevin Booth of Ephrata; a stepson: William Jr., husband of Trina Gebhart of Willow Street; three grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter.
Services were held Jan. 23 at Stradling Funeral Home, Akron, with Pastor George H. Frantz officiating. Interment was in the Brownstown Cemetery.
