Lela Youndt Horning, 88, farm wife and homemaker, Bowmansville Mennonite member

Lela Youndt Horning, 88, of Ephrata, formerly Alleghenyville, went to her heavenly home Friday, July 15, 2016, at Fairmount Homes.

Born in Adamstown, she was the daughter of the late Raymond B. and Susie G. Youndt. She is survived by her husband, Henry W. Horning, with whom she celebrated 67 years of marriage.

Lela was a dedicated homemaker, farm wife and a lifelong member of Bowmansville Mennonite Church.

In addition to her husband, Lela is survived by two daughters: Suzanne, married to John Baker, of Mohnton; and Anne, married to Kenneth Becker, of Mohnton; five grandchildren: Heidi Charles (Scott), Daniel Baker (Kirsten), Michael, Jeffrey and Douglas Becker; two great-grandchildren: Dylan and Logan Charles; one sister: Erla Beiler (Eugene); four half-siblings: Lillian Weber, Richard Weber (Barbara), Betsy Brackbill, Ruth Ann Hollinger (Lamar); three step-siblings: George Weber, Irene Horst, Diane Reitz (Richard).

She was preceded in death by five siblings: Carl, Melvin, Clair, and Leon Youndt, and Hazel Martin; one stepsister: Grace Horning and one half-brother: Sam Weber.

Services were held July 20 at Bowmansville Mennonite Church, East Earl. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery.
