Linda J. Hershey, 72, EHS grad, surgical nurse at LRMC, enjoyed drawing, piano

Linda J. Hershey, 72, of Denver, passed away Monday, Jan. 23, 2017, at Lancaster Regional Medical Center.

She was born in Upland, Calif., to the late Norm E. and Polly (Granger) Wolfe, and was the wife of the late Alvin D. Hershey, who passed away in 1999.

She was a member of Salem United Methodist Church, Rothsville. Linda was a surgical nurse for Lancaster Regional Medical Center. She graduated from Ephrata High School, Class of 1962 and also from the Thomas Jefferson School of Nursing. She enjoyed golfing, bowling and playing piano, and loved to draw.

Linda is survived by a son: Scott Rogers, of Minetonka, Minn.; a daughter: Tami Layman, fiancée of Eddie Thomas, of Stephens City, Va.; five grandchildren: Chase, Christian, Devon, Kaitlin, and Mikayla; and a great-granddaughter: Ayva.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother: Mike Wolfe.

Services were held Jan. 27 at the Stradling Funeral Home with Pastor Jeffrey Martin officiating. Interment took place in Conestoga Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Linda’s memory may be made to the American Cancer Society-Lancaster County Unit, 314 Good Drive, Lancaster, PA 17603.
