Lorenza ‘Renz’ E. Fryberger, 88, Akron, WWII vet, worked for New Holland Concrete, outdoorsman

Lorenza “Renz” E. Fryberger, 88, of Akron, and formerly of Ephrata, passed away at home on Saturday, April 23, 2016.

He was the husband of Patricia (Blair) Fryberger, and son of the late Lorenzo C. and Florence E. (Smith) Fryberger. His first wife, the late Flurrie L. (Weaver) Fryberger, passed away Dec. 29, 1964.

Renz retired from New Holland Concrete and was a U.S. Navy veteran having served during World War II in the Pacific Theater. He was a member of Ephrata VFW Cocalico Valley Post No. 3376 and loved fishing, hunting, and rooting for the Phillies and Eagles.

In addition to his wife, Patricia, Renz is survived by seven children: Beverly A. Martin of Mohnton; Donna L. Wagner of Elizabethtown; Sherrie A. Diem of East Earl; Kenneth E. Boley of Denver; Steve A. Boley of Denver; Brian L. Fryberger of Reinholds; and Michael S. Fryberger of Denver, Colo.; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren: and four siblings: William Fryberger, Jean Fryberger, Doris Long, and Delores Lausch.

In addition to his first wife and parents, Renz was preceded in death by one granddaughter, three sisters, and two brothers.

The family will receive friends at Paul L. Gravenor Home For Funerals, 100 W. Main St., Ephrata, PA 17522 on Wednesday, April 27, from 1 to 2 p.m., with a time of remembrance and sharing at 2 p.m.
