Lorraine S. Crowther, 79, LNP news carrier, Lions Club, Red Hat member, enjoyed cooking, baking

Lorraine S. Crowther, 79, of Denver, formerly of Ephrata, passed away surrounded by family, on Thursday, March 22, 2018, at Einstein Medical Center, Philadelphia.

She was born in Ephrata to the late Earl and Esther (Stauffer) Sweigart, and was the wife of the late Barry L. Crowther, who passed away in 2009.

Lorraine was a member of Swamp Evangelical Lutheran Church, Reinholds. She delivered the Lancaster Newspaper for over 20 years, was a member of the Ephrata Lions Club and the Red Hat Society. Lorraine loved her grandchildren and enjoyed cooking and baking.

She is survived by a son: Michael A. Crowther; a foster daughter: Kim, wife of Nathan Weaver; two grandchildren: Tandi, wife of Anthony Kashner; Blain Crowther; four foster grandchildren: Josh, Paige, Dillon, and Cierra Weaver; three great-grandchildren: Makiah, Taryn, and Lena; a sister: Evelyn Gehman; and a brother: Mervin Sweigart.

In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by a son: Dane A. Crowther.

Services were held March 28 at Swamp Evangelical Lutheran Church, Reinholds, with Pastor Dennis L. Trout officiating. Interment took place in Swamp Cemetery.
