Louis R ‘Bud’ Larmie Jr., 74, Korea vet, truck driver, loved spending time with his family

Louis R ‘Bud’ Larmie Jr., 74, of Blue Ball, passed through the Golden Gates on Friday, July 8, 2016, at Ephrata Community Hospital.

He was born in Burlington, Vt., to the late Louis R. “Sam” Larmie Sr. and the late Ruth (Barrett) Larmie on Feb. 4, 1942.

He served in the U.S. Army, and was stationed in Korea. He was a truck driver most of his life, hauling all kinds of freight until he retired. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, telling stories from his past and singing funny songs he would make up on a whim.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years: Sandra K. (Skidmore) Larmie; a son: Louis R Larmie III, of Blue Ball; three daughters: Kelly, wife of Fredrick Sprecher Jr., of New Holland; April, wife of Daniel Hogan Sr., of Ephrata; and Kandra Maldonado of Akron; a brother: David Larmie of Lancaster; 16 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; and four sisters.

Memorial services will be held at a later date.
