Lydia Ann Brubaker, 55, homemaker, mother of five, Spring Grove Mennonite member

Lydia Ann Brubaker, 55, of East Earl, died Thursday, June 22, 2017 after a lengthy illness.

Born in Caernarvon Township, she was a daughter of Menno M. and Martha E. (Kilmer) Shirk of East Earl. She was married 34 years on Dec. 23 to Melvin Z. Brubaker.

She was a homemaker and a member of Spring Grove Mennonite Church.

Surviving in addition to her parents and husband are five children: Loretta Brubaker at home; Clair, married to Regina (Martin) Brubaker, of Georgetown, Ohio; Lois Ann, married to Elam Newswanger, of East Earl; Melvin Ray, married to Lucy Marie (Leid) Brubaker, of Barnett, Mo.; and John Daniel, married to Norma (Zimmerman) Brubaker, of East Earl; four grandsons: Weston Brubaker, Matthew Newswanger, Javon Brubaker, and Tristan Brubaker; three granddaughters: Marcille Brubaker, Martha Newswanger, and Hanna Newswanger; and 14 brothers and sisters.

Preceding her in death is her oldest brother: David K. Shirk.

Funeral services were held June 26 at Spring Grove Mennonite Church, East Earl, with the Bishop Elam Zimmerman officiating. Interment was in the adjoining cemetery. Kindly omit flowers.
