Marion C. Basehore, 92, Denver native, Hershey Chocolate, CHS cafeteria worker

Marion C. Basehore, 92, of Lancaster, formerly of Denver, passed away May 11, 2015, at the Hamilton Arms Center, Lancaster.

She was born in Denver, the daughter of the late Roy and Mae (Brendel) Collingwood, and was the wife of Earl M. Basehore, with whom she marked 73 years of marriage this past August.

Marion was a member of Swamp Lutheran Church. She made and collected dolls, and collected antiques. She was also very active in fundraising for building a school in Haiti in her earlier years. She worked as a production worker for Hershey Chocolate and was a cafeteria worker for the Cocalico School District, prior to her retirement.

In addition to her husband, Marion is survived by two sons: Jerry Bashore of Silver Spring, Md., and W. Scott Basehore, husband of Cindy (Frederick) of Denver; a grandson: Brad, husband of Heather (Kenney) Basehore of East Earl; and three great-granddaughters: Mae, Elsie, and Annie Basehore.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister: Ethel Mohler.

Private services and interment will be held at the convenience of the family.
