Mary C. Huesken, 56, Ephrata, cellist, Exeter music teacher, enjoyed scrapbooking

Mary C. Huesken, 56, of Ephrata, passed away at LifeCare Hospital of West Chester Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2015.

She was the wife of Dr. Gerald G. Huesken. She was born in Darby, daughter of Allen J. and Helen C. Fricker Brennan, of Springfield.

She was a member of Our Mother of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Ephrata, where she was involved in the music ministry.

She graduated from Susquehanna University in 1980, with a bachelor of music education. She worked most recently as an elementary music teacher at Exeter Township School District, Berks County. She also was employed in the Wyomissing Area and Solanco school districts. Mary played cello for the Lancaster Symphony Orchestra for more than 25 years. She played also with the Camerata String Quartet and the Allegro Chamber Orchestra. Mary loved music, the Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles, knitting, crafts, scrapbooking, her family, and her cat Thomas.

Surviving besides her husband and parents are two children: Gerald G., husband of Emily Evans Huesken, of Marietta; Kristy Huesken of Lancaster; granddaughter: Olivia Huesken; three siblings: Joseph, husband of Judy Brennan, of Hainesport, N.J.; Dr. Kathleen Agren of Morton; Dr. Brian Brennan, husband of Sarah Spratt, of Arlington, Mass.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held Dec. 14 at Our Mother of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Ephrata. Interment took place at St. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield.
