Mary Evelyn Maze, 90, pastor’s wife, enjoyed crafts, cooking, entertaining in her home
Mary Evelyn Maze, 90 formerly of Parkersburg, passed away May 2, 2014 at Mt. Hope Nazarene Community Home in Pennsylvania.
She was born July 5, 1923 in Ritchie County, W.V., a daughter of the late William A. and Gladys Haney Parks.
She was a graduate of Cairo High School and was a member of Broadway Church of the Nazarene in Parkersburg. She loved working with crafts. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed entertaining in her home. She was a loving, caring and supportive Pastor’s wife.
Mary is survived by three daughters: Barbara Sue (B.W.) Hambrick of Ephrata, Sharon K. (Raynard) Martin of Rittman, Ohio and Janelle Darlene (Tom) Govin of Lynn, Ind.; grandchildren: Robert (Christy) Hambrick, Rocky (Sharon) Hambrick, Ronald (Melissa) Hambrick, Amy (Aaron) Massey, Sarah Martin, Raynard Eric (Lindsey) Martin, Jessica (Ryan) Williams, John Kenneth (Amanda) Govin, Jared (Jerrica) Govin; 13 great-grandchildren; two brothers: Harold Parks of Parkersburg, W.V. and Dale Parks of Greeneville, S.C.; and a sister: Pat Hazelton of Leesburg, Fla.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband: Rev. Virgil Kenneth Maze; two brothers: Walter (Bud) Parks and Wilbur Parks; a sister: Ruth Rogers; and two infant sisters.
Services were held May 7 at Broadway Church of the Nazarene with Pastors B.W. Hambrick, Raynard Martin and Tom Govin officiating. Interment was at Sunset Memory Gardens.
Memorial contributions in Mary’s memory may be sent to Mt. Hope Nazarene Retirement Home, 3026 Mt. Hope Home Rd., Manheim, PA 17545.
