Mary J. Anderson, 94, WWII vet, Penn Manor school nurse, enjoyed going to the beach

Mary J. Anderson, 94, of Ephrata, formerly of Lancaster, passed away Wednesday, June 1, 2016, at Ephrata Community Hospital.
She was born in Somerville, Mass., the daughter of the late Bernard A. and Lucy T. (Terrell) Maguire. Her husband, Robert C. Anderson, died in 1973.
Mary served in the U.S. Army Nurse Corps during World War II. She worked as a school nurse for the Penn Manor School District. She enjoyed playing cards, trips to the beach, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Surviving are her daughter-in-law: Lucinda L. Anderson; grandchildren: Brian, married to Valya Anderson; Heather, married to Paul Marx; Michael Anderson; and Michelle Anderson; great-grandchildren: Ethan, Abby, Galya, and Dasha; and nephews: John, married to Joanne Hurley; and Donald married to Ann Hurley.
Mary was preceded in death by her sons: R. David Anderson and Michael B. Anderson.
Services and burial will be private in Conestoga Memorial Park.
