Myrtle Foust, 94, Ephrata, partner at Roy Foust Painting, volunteered at Ephrata Fair

Myrtle Foust, 94, of Ephrata, passed away Friday, Nov. 21, 2014, at Fairmount Homes, Inc.

She was born in Lancaster to the late George and Dora (Pickel) Schmook and was the wife of the late Roy N. Foust.

Myrtle was a member of Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church, Ephrata. She was an artist, a member of the Soroptimist Club of Ephrata, and volunteered on the Ephrata Fair Committee for a number of years. Myrtle was a business partner with her husband in Roy Foust Painting, where she designed custom draperies and slip covers.

Myrtle is survived by a daughter: Dora E., wife of Delmas E. Gentzler of Ephrata; a son: John R., husband of Jacquiline M. Foust of Denver; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a sister: Charlotte Ballou of Lancaster.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by seven siblings: infants Dora and George, Esther Brommer, John Schmook, Jay Schmook, Edna Swan and Fred Schmook.

Services were held Nov. 25 at Wheatridge Chapel, Fairmount Homes, Ephrata, with Rev. Jeffrey Goodman officiating. Interment took place in the Wolf Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Myrtle’s memory may be made to Fairmount Homes Benevolent Fund, 333 Wheat Ridge Drive, Ephrata, PA 17522.
