Norman W. Hoover, 81, Reinholds, farmer, Cocalico Mennonite Church member

Norman W. Hoover, 81, of Reinholds, passed away Saturday, Dec. 12, 2015, at his residence.

He was born in Ephrata to the late Edwin and Ella (Weaver) Hoover and was the husband of the late Erma B. (Wise) Hoover.

He was a member of the Cocalico Mennonite Church and worked as a self-employed farmer.

Norman is survived by four sons: Harlan, husband of Kathryn (Good) Hoover of Oley; Curvin, husband of Delphine (Martin) Hoover, of Manheim; Steven, husband of Lavina (Weaver) Hoover, of Neillsville, Wisc.; Glenn, husband of Earline (Oberholtzer) Hoover, of Reinholds; five daughters: Eleanor Hoover, Laura Mae Hoover, Marie Hoover, and Helen Hoover, all of Reinholds, Nancy, wife of Mervin Oberholtzer, of Colby, Wisc.; 35 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brother: Edwin Hoover of Ephrata; two sisters-in-law: Mary (wife of the late Eli Hoover), Katie (wife of the late Aaron Hoover); and two sisters: Emma Hoover and Esther Hoover, both of Ephrata.

In addition to his parents and wife, Norman is preceded in death by a grandchild: Willard Hoover; four brothers: Menno, Eli, Phares, and Aaron Hoover; and two sisters: Anna Hoover and Mary Stauffer.

A viewing will be held Wednesday, Dec. 16, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m., at the Midway Mennonite Reception Center, 210 E. Lexington Road, Lititz. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Dec. 17, at 8:45 a.m., at the Midway Mennonite Reception Center, with further services at 9:30 a.m., from the Springville Mennonite Church, 580 Springville Road, Ephrata, with Bishop Melvin Martin officiating. Interment will take place in the adjoining church cemetery. Kindly omit flowers.
