Patsy R. Whirt, 87, Rothsville HS grad, Singing Needles sewing supervisor

Patsy R. Whirt, 87, of Ephrata, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2017, at Gardens at Stevens.

She was born in East Petersburg to the late Roland R. and Pauline E. (Thatcher) Houser.

Patsy was a member of the Conestoga Valley Church of Christ, Lancaster. She was a graduate of Rothsville High School. During her working years, she was a sewing supervisor for 34 years for the former Singing Needles, Scott and Kurt, and Manheim Garment Co.

Patsy is survived by several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a sister: Betty Lou Cammauf; and two brothers: Richard and Harold Houser.

Services were held Feb. 20 at Stradling Funeral Home, Akron, with Pastor Jeff Werkheiser officiating. Interment took place in the Millport Union Cemetery.
