Pearl E. Gertler, 94, Ephrata, worked at Husin Shirt Co. and Eby Shoe Co.
Pearl E. Gertler, 94, longtime resident of Ephrata, passed away Friday, June 20, 2014 at Golden Living Center in Lancaster, PA.
Her husband, the late Otto R. Gertler, passed away February 21, 1994.
Pearl was born in West Earl Township, daughter of the late William and Emma (Heck) Foltz.
She was formerly a member of Coleman Memorial Chapel in Brickerville, and worked at the former Husin Shirt Company and Eby Shoe Company, both of Ephrata.
Surviving are three sons: Richard M. Gertler, husband of Sharon, of Raton, N.M., Roy R. Gertler, husband of Betty, of Reedsville, and Otto J. Gertler, husband of Shirley, of Reinholds; one daughter: Roxanne R., wife of Randy Matthews of Colorado; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, Pearl was preceded in death by a son: Raymond L. Gertler; two sisters: Amy Peters and Elaine Getz; two brothers: Levi and Roland Foltz; a half-brother: Richard P. Heck; and a half-sister,:Betty Lehman.
A memorial service was held at Paul L. Gravenor Home For Funerals, 100 W. Main St., Ephrata, on June 25, with Brother Don Kinnier officiating. The family received friends an hour prior to the service. Place of interment will be Hammer Creek Mennonite Cemetery, Elizabeth Township.
