Ray D. Freeman, 88, Dana Corp. retiree, avid hunter, fisherman, enjoyed pinochle, coffee

Ray D. Freeman, 88, of Ephrata, passed away on Monday, Nov. 12, 2018, at The Gardens at Stevens.

He was born in Oley to the late Harvey and Amy (Potts) Freeman.

Ray was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Bowmansville, the Howell Lodge, Rajah Shrine, and Cushion Peak Rod and Gun Club in Reinholds. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, enjoyed swimming at the Ephrata Rec Center, playing pinochle with friends, and enjoying a good cup of hot coffee.

Ray retired from the Dana Corp in Reading.

He is survived by two nephews: Terry and Fred Lesher; a niece: Judy Lesher; five great-nieces and nephews: Tara Lesher, Amber Lesher, Wendy Austin, Scott Lesher, Jamie Lesher; and several great-great-nieces and nephews.

Ray is the last of his immediate family. He was preceded in death by a sister: Katherine Freeman; and three brothers: Earl, Paul, and Chester Freeman.

Services were held Nov. 17, at the Roseboro Stradling Funeral Home, Denver, with Pastor Timothy L. Craven officiating. Interment took place in the Bowmansville Union Cemetery.
