Rev. Jonathan Forsythe, 68, Ephrata, minister, missionary for Moody Church of Chicago

Rev. Jonathan David Forsythe, 68, of Ephrata, died May 10, 2014 at the Ephrata Community Hospital. He died of natural causes and went to be with his Lord.

He was born in Bloomington, Illinois, the son of his late parents, Rev. David Leslie Forsythe and Lila Mae (Stanton) Forsythe. He was the husband of Thelma Louise (Breiner) Forsythe.

Rev. Forsythe’s profession was as a Minister, and Missionary with his wife. Jonathan was also a substitute teacher in the School District of Lancaster. His church affiliation, along with his wife, is the Moody Church of Chicago, Illinois.

Surviving, along with his wife, Thelma; are three sons: Jonathan Paul Forsythe, Milford, Conn., David Mark Forsythe, husband of Michelle, Exeter Twp. and Matthew Gregory Forsythe husband of Tessa, Nampa, Idaho; a daughter: Elisabeth Ann Heidebrecht wife of Caleb, Lancaster; a brother: Rev. Paul Stanton Forsythe, husband of Phyllis, of Mesa, Ariz.; and his grandchildren: Noah, Aaron, Carter, Liam, Ryan, Abigail, Parker, Rylie, Eliza, Jeremiah and Mark.

He was predeceased by a daughter: Susan Beck Forsythe.

His funeral service was held May 20 at First Presbyterian Church of Lancaster. Interment followed at Birdsboro Cemetery. Dengler Funeral Home, Inc., Birdsboro, handled the arrangements.
