Richard Lamar Deemer, 81, Skips Cutting garment retiree, enjoyed hunting, fishing, and golf

Richard Lamar Deemer, 81, of Ephrata, passed away at home on Monday, May 7, 2018, with his loving wife, Teresa, by his side.

Richard was born in Ephrata on Aug. 8, 1936, to Irvin C. and Ada (Zartman) Deemer.

Richard is survived by his wife: Teresa Jane (Dickson) Deemer; daughter: Brenda Jean Hess of Lititz; son: Dennis Lamar Deemer, husband of Kathy Anne (Weaver) of Colorado; and daughter: Vicki Heisey, wife of Sheldon E. Heisey of Manheim. Also, surviving are stepson: Elwood L. Boehler III, husband of Lori of Lancaster; and stepdaughter: Christina M. Mathes, wife of Louis Mathes Jr., of Ephrata; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and two siblings: Irvin Deemer Jr. of Myerstown; and Joyce Boyer, wife of Lynne of Ephrata.

Preceding Richard in death were his parents and a stepson: Michael J. Weaver.

Richard was a garment worker and retired from Skips Cutting in Ephrata in 2000. In his early years he loved hunting and fishing; as he grew older, he developed a passion for golf.

Services were held May 11 at Gravenor Home for Funerals, Ephrata. Interment was at Emmanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Brickerville.
