Richard Paul Coller, 86, Boeing, Martin-Marietta worker, sports lover, also enjoyed pinochle

Richard Paul Coller, 86, of Ephrata, passed away Tuesday, July 19, 2016, at Heart of Lancaster Regional Medical.

He was born in Shillington on May 5, 1930, to the late Paul and Erma (Mohn) Coller. His wife, Garnetta (Speck) died Dec. 10, 2004.

He has two sons: Christian of Seattle, Wash.; and Craig, husband of Linda (Fronheiser); and a grandson: Matthew, all of Reading.

He loved sports, and in his younger days was a team player in baseball, basketball and bowling. He also loved playing pinochle.

Richard graduated from Reading High School in 1948 and from the former Wyomissing Polytechnic Institute in 1950. He also attended John Hopkins University, Baltimore; and University of Denver, Colo.; and the Pennsylvania State University.

His career with Boeing and Martin-Marietta included mechanical engineering and computer programming; he was also part of the NASA program.

Surviving are his five sisters: Jane, widow of Russell Long; Vivian, widow of Frank Casper; Patsy, widow of Robert Shober; Barbara, widow of Joseph Cipolla; Lois, widow of David Miller: and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial service and burial will be at the convenience of the family.
