Robert J. ‘Bob’ Shultz, 74, Vietnam vet, Department of Defense worker, attended Ephrata FUMC

Robert J. “Bob” Shultz died in Lancaster General Hospital on Sunday, Aug. 7, 2016, in Lancaster, at the age of 74 years, seven months.

Robert is survived by his wife: Elizabeth L. (Dodd) Shultz; two sons: David R. Shultz, husband of Debbie, of Warminster; and Matthew J. Shultz, husband of Kelly; and two grandsons: Matthew and Connor.

Robert was born Jan. 6, 1942, in Philadelphia, to the late Robert A. Shultz and the late Ruth A. (Crawford) Shultz.

He served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War aboard the USS Frank E. Evans as a Petty Officer 3rd Class from 1964 to 1967. After moving to Lawndale, Robert began working for the U.S. government, finally ending his career as a contract administrator with the Department of Defense.

Robert was a member of the Ephrata First United Methodist Church, He was active in the Historic Conservation Trust of Ephrata and loved being with his family and especially his grandchildren.

Services and interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
