Robert L. Moyer, 67, Denver, Vietnam vet, worked for Firestone Tire, gun club member

Robert L. Moyer, 67, of Denver, died Sunday, May 17, 2015 at the Reading Hospital & Medical Center of natural causes.

Born in Pottstown, he was the son of the late Ralph Bean Moyer and Kathryn R. (Angstadt) Moyer.

He was a member of Wiest Memorial United Methodist Church, Stevens. Robert was employed by the former Firestone Tire and Rubber Co., Pottstown, and retired from Agere of Reading. He was a member of the Oley Valley Fish and Game Association, Shartlesville Gun Club, Northkill Rod & Gun Club. He served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam.

Surviving are three sisters: Doris J., wife of Stacy “Bud” Fletcher, of Denver; Mary “Betty,” wife of Alfred Oxenford, of Birdsboro; Geraldine, widow of Jack Longaker, of Highpoint, N.C.; a brother: R. Dennis, husband of Susie Moyer of Birdsboro; 10 nieces and nephews; nine great-nieces and nephews; and four great-great-nieces and nephews.

Friends and relatives are invited to the funeral service at Dengler Funeral Home, 144 N. Spruce, Birdsboro, on Thursday, May 21, at 11 a.m. A viewing will be held one hour before the service. Interment will be held in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Amityville.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Wiest Memorial United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, 48 S. King St., Stevens, PA 17578 or Oley Valley Fish and Game Association, 114 Old State Road, Reading PA, 19606.

Dengler Funeral Home, Birdsboro, had charge of the arrangements.
