Robert W. Martin, 83, Korea vet, G.E. aerospace engineer, avid outdoorsman

Robert W. Martin, 83, Denver, formerly of Phoenixville, died Aug. 25, 2016, in Hershey Medical Center.

Born in Waverly, N.Y., a son of the late Ramon and Shirley (Palmer) Martin, he was married 48 years to Beverly J. (Noltee) Martin.

Bob was a Korean Army veteran and a Mason. He was an aerospace industrial engineer with General Electric, King of Prussia. He was an avid outdoorsman and a true handyman.

Also surviving are his sons: Joel R. Martin, Boyertown; Ed Sechrist, Gilbertsville; Kirk D. Martin, Middle River, Md.; and David J. Sechrist, Spring City; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and a sister: Sally Applehans, Denver, Colo.

A daughter, Wanda L. Martin; and brother: Jerry Martin, predeceased him.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, Sept. 3, at 1 p.m., from Peace United Church of Christ, 37 E. Swartzville Road, Denver, with the Rev. William E. Hoch officiating. The family will greet friends following the service. Private inurnment will be in Morris Cemetery, Phoenixville.
