Roger F. Ream, 79, Ephrata, former Ephrata Pioneer Fire Co. chief, enjoyed travel, watching soccer

Roger F. Ream, 79, of Ephrata, passed away Thursday, March 17, 2016, at Lancaster General Hospital.

He was born in Ephrata to the late John and Stella (Curley) Ream; and was the husband of Elaine (Gehman) Ream, with whom he was married to for 57 years.

He was a member of the Ephrata Church of the Brethren, a former church deacon, member of the current pastoral search committee, chief for 25 years at the Ephrata Pioneer Fire Co., and a member of Java Teas “Coffee Club.” Roger loved to travel, especially to Israel, enjoyed watching soccer and loved his family, especially his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, Roger is survived by daughter: Susan, wife of Greg Snyder; and son: Todd, husband of Kim (Killian) Ream, both of Ephrata; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a brother: Donald Ream of Mt. Joy.

He was preceded in death by son: Michael Ream.

A memorial service was held March 20 at the Ephrata Church of the Brethren, with Pastors Rob Eshelman and Galen Hackman officiating. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
