Ronald E. Sweigart, 79, Ephrata, Korea vet, Sperry New Holland retiree, avid outdoorsman

Ronald E. Sweigart, 79, of Ephrata, passed away Friday, Nov. 6, 2015 at Hospice and Community Care.

He was the husband of Joyce M. (Hibshman) Sweigart, and son of the late Paul and Dorothy (Gockley) Sweigart.

Ronald served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a member of the Reinholds VFW. He retired from Sperry New Holland where he worked as an industrial engineer and was most recently employed at the Manheim Auto Auction. Ronald enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, and camping with family and friends.

In addition to his wife: Joyce; he is survived by three daughters: Kimberly, wife of Rick Craley, of Adamstown; Corrine, wife of Russell Wenger, of Lititz; and Melissa, wife of Sam Betancourt, of Lititz; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a sister: Virginia Sebastian of Reinholds; and a brother: Marvin Sweigart, husband of Thelma, of Denver.

Funeral services officiated by the Rev. Roger Hornberger will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 11, at Paul L. Gravenor Home For Funerals, 100 W. Main St., Ephrata. The family will receive friends before the service from 10 to 11 a.m. Place of interment will be Cedar Hill Cemetery, Ephrata.
