Rose Miles, 94, garment worker

Rose T. Miles, 94, of Lititz, passed away Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at her residence.

Rose was born in Ralston, a daughter of the late Augustus and Filamina (Tagliaboski) Turi. She was the widow of the late James C. Miles, who passed in 1977.

Rose was a member of Our Mother of Perpetual Help Church in Ephrata. She worked as a presser at Shoreson & Son for 35 years and was a member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union.

She is survived by a son: Charles J., husband of Sandra L. (Bortz) Miles, of Denver; two daughters: Rose M. Bryson, of Ephrata; and Christina M., wife of Jeffrey L. Sullivan, of Morgantown; 12 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren; a brother: Lawrence Turi; a sister: Lucy Miles, both of Williamsport; and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her brothers: Joe and Angelo; sisters: Mary, Emily and Jennie; great-grandson: Nicholas J. Bryson; and son-in-law: John W. Bryson Jr.

A mass of Christian burial was held May 27 at OMPH. Final commendation and farewell took place at Wildwood Cemetery in Williamsport.
