Royce A. Ochs, 65, worked for Haines & Kibblehouse
Royce A. Ochs, 65, Adamstown, died Friday, Aug. 16, 2013, in an auto accident in Berks County on his way to work.
Born in Ephrata, a son of the late Luke B. and Elva V. (Coldren) Ochs, he would have celebrated five years of marriage to Lisa Y. (Gress) Ochs Oct. 18.
A 1966 Cocalico Union High School graduate, he received his B.A. in psychology from Albright College in 1970. Royce was a dispatcher and weigh master with Haines & Kibblehouse at their Douglasville quarry for over 40 years. A member of Swamp Christian Fellowship, he served on the consistory and treasurer of the Willing Workers.
He and Lisa shared interests in Pennsylvania history, local artisan redware, traveling and dining out trying new cuisine. He was an avid baseball, football and hockey fan, appreciated nature, caring for his gardens and cats. Royce was a true romantic and a generous, loving husband, brother and uncle. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a sister: Jerilyn, wife of Josef Dominek, Denver; nephews: Derek (Sarah) Dominek and children: Zoe, Jackson and Madison, of Warrington and Brent (Wendy) Dominek and children: Zachary and and Alicia, of Sicklerville, N.J.
Funeral services were held Aug. 21, 2013 from Swamp Christian Fellowship, Reinholds, with his pastor, The Rev. M. Craig Snow, officiating. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery, Denver.
