Russell E. Lausch, 70, Vietnam vet, barbershop singer, active with Reamstown organizations

Russell E. Lausch, 70, Lancaster, formerly of Stevens, died unexpectedly July 8, 2014, in Lancaster Regional Medical Center.

Born in Reamstown, a son of the late Paul H. and Blanche (Sensenig) Lausch, he was married 50 years to Sundae Ann (Clouser) Lausch.

A 1961 Cocalico Union High School graduate, he was a Vietnam War Army veteran and worked for H & F Tire Service, Lancaster. Russell was an active member of Ascension Lutheran Church, Willow Street; associate member of Christ United Methodist Church; and had been a council and choir member at the former St. John’s Lutheran Church, Denver. He served as president and board member of Red Rose Barbershop Chorus, Lancaster; sang bass with Evening Mist quartet; past president and member of Reamstown Fire Co. and ambulance association; and entertainment chairman of Reamstown Days.

Also surviving is his son: Bruce A. (Melina Klopp) Lausch, Denver; grandchildren: Hayden E. and Henry A.; and sisters: Rochelle E. (Kenneth W.) Heinsey, Stevens, Rita E. (Barry L.) Garner, Reamstown, and Rhonda E. (Byron L.) Ziegler, Mohnton.

A celebration of Russell’s life will be held Sunday, July 20, at 3 p.m. from Ascension Lutheran Church, 600 E. Penn Grant Road, Willow Street, with his pastor, The Rev. Steven R. Bowser, officiating. The family will greet friends following the service. Inurnment with military honors will be Monday, July 21, at 10 a.m. in Salem Union ER20140716_BobiLauschRussel1Cemetery, Reamstown.
